Patents Filed

A patent for a “USB Data Acquisition Card” was filed with The Patent Office of IPO, Karachi, having Patent Application Number 287/2009 dated 6th April 2009. After initial assessment of the concerned patent examiners, the Controller of Patents and Designs has issued Acceptance of the Patent Application vide notification letter with SI. No. 140763 dated 01 June 2010.

Degrees Awarded by IIEE

As many as 132 Graduates have been produced by IIEE during January 2008 till December 2010.

Regular / Tailor made Short Courses

FPGA is a new technology which is now being widely used in electronics based system development; however there are only a few training facilities on this technology are available in the country. IIEE conducted a tailor made, 6-weeks short course on “FPGA Based Digital System Designs” to introduce the FPGA Technology, during April – May 2010. Thirty (30) participants from local industry and engineering institutions attended the course.

Seminars Organized by IIEE

IIEE students organized e-Indus 2008, 2009, & 2010 in last three years. The e-Indus is an annual mega engineering event being organized by the students of Institute of Industrial Electronics Engineering (IIEE) PCSIR, Karachi since 1999. It is an all Pakistan competition with the participation of almost all the major institution, participating of the skills of students with engineering niche, especially from Karachi, Hyderabad and Jamshoro.

Industrial Linkage Activity:

The main industrial linkage activity of IIEE is assignment of Final Year Project by local industry. IIEE students have successfully designed, developed these projects and (only if so required) handed over the projects to the industry. Some of the industrial units are; SIEMENS, SUPARCO, Peoples’ Steel Mills, Pakistan Steel Mills, and PCSIR KLC, etc.
