IEEE-IIEE

A student branch of IEEE, Inc., USA has been established here in IIEE so that the students are in touch with their counterparts in foreign educational institutions and technical circles. Also IIEE students have been presenting their indigenously developed projects/research papers at local forums like IEEEP annual student’s seminars. So by the establishment of IEEE Student Branch at IIEE, we have enhanced our stature from local to an international one.

IEEE Student Branch at IIEE was formed on June 15, 1999. IIEE-IEEE Student Branch was the 2nd IEEE student branch to be founded in Karachi and the 6th IEEE Student Branch in Pakistan. Inaugural ceremony of the newly formed IIEE-IEEE Student Branch was held on the August 25, 1999. The Chief Guest of the occasion was the Chairman IEEE Karachi Section, Mr. Muhammad N. Sheriff.

So it has been almost a decade since the start of IEEE branch at IIEE and from then to now, within this very short period, IIEE-IEEE Student Branch has proved itself to be an active IEEE student branch in the real sense of the word. The IIEE-IEEE Student Branch regularly arranges technical activities for the members that are focused on advancing their know-how and general technical standing as electronic engineers. Our members actively participate in all activities which are taking place under the banner of IIEE-IEEE Student Branch locally at IIEE and also in the activities, competitions, contests and conferences hosted by IEEE at international level.

Today IIEE-IEEE Student Branch is one of the premier student branches in the IEEE Karachi Section. Keeping in view the age of our fledgling branch, our achievements have been enormous. Since its inauguration in 1999, IIEE-IEEE has taken giant leaps in these few years.

The IIEE-IEEE Student Branch also organizes national event every year named as e-Indus, in which students of universities across the nation present their projects and research papers. e-Indus 2010 will be held with the same spirits as the preceding years on 4th of October 2010 at the campus of IIEE.
