Overview
IIEE’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was established on 5 December 2016 on the recommendation of NED University of Engineering and Technology. Its purpose is not paperwork: it keeps the institute’s teaching, assessment and faculty development aligned with national accreditation and international academic standards.
The QEC works through evidence — feedback surveys, course and programme reviews, external visits and follow-up actions. The goal is a loop that closes: listen, measure, improve and check again.

What the QEC does
Quality assurance
Reviews programmes, courses, assessment and academic files against defined standards.
Feedback surveys
Collects student, alumni and employer feedback to test teaching effectiveness and relevance.
OBE implementation
Supports the OBE cell in applying PEC’s outcome-based education framework.
Faculty development
Coordinates training and workshops that strengthen teaching and professional practice.
How quality is measured
- Student feedback on courses and teaching.
- Alumni feedback on preparation for professional life.
- Employer feedback on graduate competence and relevance.
- Course files, assessment records and programme documentation.
- External QEC and re-affiliation visits by NED University teams.
- Action plans that turn findings into concrete improvements.
Outcome-Based Education
An Outcome-Based Education (OBE) cell was established at IIEE at the request of the QEC chairperson. It implements the OBE system recommended by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), so programmes are structured around what graduates should actually be able to do.
The OBE work connects directly to the institute’s vision, programme objectives, learning outcomes and assessment mapping.
QEC members
The cell’s current members and roles are listed in the official staff detail above. For a specific query, contact the QEC office through the institute.
