Overview
The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visits engineering institutions as part of accreditation. The team reviews programmes, faculty, laboratories, assessment and evidence that graduates meet the required outcomes.
A visit is not an inspection of individual students. It is a check on the system that produces graduates — and a chance for students to show what they can do.
What a PEC visit covers
Programme curriculum
Course scheme, prerequisites and coverage of required knowledge areas.
Faculty & facilities
Qualifications, workload, laboratories and learning resources.
OBE evidence
Outcomes, assessment mapping and continuous improvement.
Student experience
Feedback, support, projects and graduate readiness.
Why it matters to students
- An accredited degree is recognised by employers and professional bodies.
- It supports mobility and further study.
- It signals that the programme has been reviewed against a national standard.
- It creates a structured cycle of improvement, not a one-time label.

How students contribute
- Attend the briefing and know your programme’s objectives and outcomes.
- Speak honestly about your experience and the support you receive.
- Be ready to explain your project and what you built.
- Keep laboratories and project spaces tidy and safe.
- Treat visitors professionally — they are assessing the whole system.
Want to understand accreditation better?
The QEC and OBE pages explain the outcomes, evidence and review cycle behind a PEC visit.
Visit photographs are from the published QEC evidence file. Accreditation status should be confirmed with the institute.
