Overview

Research at a teaching institute starts with a problem worth solving. IIEE’s student projects and faculty work focus on applied electronics, automation, embedded systems, computing and energy.

The best projects are not the most complicated ones. They are the ones that work reliably, can be explained clearly and solve something real.

What we work on

Industrial automation

PLC, instrumentation, process control and smart manufacturing.

Embedded & IoT

Microcontrollers, sensors, connected devices and firmware.

Energy & power

Solar, power electronics, efficiency and monitoring.

Computing & AI

Software systems, data, machine learning and intelligent control.

The final-year project

  1. Identify a real problem and agree the scope with a supervisor.
  2. Review what already exists and define the gap.
  3. Write clear requirements and a testable design.
  4. Build the system in stages, not all at the end.
  5. Test against the requirements and record the results.
  6. Document the design, tests, limitations and future work.
  7. Demonstrate the working system and explain the decisions.

Industry projects

Industry-sponsored projects give students a real brief, a real deadline and a real user. Companies can propose a problem, mentor a team or host a demonstration.

Have a problem worth a project?

Industry, alumni and community organisations can propose a project or offer a site for testing.

Project availability and supervision depend on faculty and laboratory capacity. Confirm current arrangements with the department.
